Akela Sarah Smith was awarded her Wood Beads at a special presentation held with her Cub Pack, fellow leaders, family and friends at the Kama Scout Hall on 28 July. The presentation was made by Ikki (from Lake Ginninderra Sea Scouts and the Draco Fellowship). After the formalities were complete, Akela was showered with streamers, and then we all celebrated with cake! Congratulations Akela. Find out more about Wood Beads here and here.

A combined meeting of Cubs and Joeys was great fun. The Kub Kar gear was put through a final practice run before the big event on 3 August.
Tonight the scouts had a fantastic evening learning to unicycle with the kind help of the local unicycling club. There’s only one wheel but it takes two or even three people to ride it (at least it does when you are new to it!). Great fun for all.
Here is the full team: Aussies and Coloradans, departing Denver.
At 6.00am this morning the bus containing our Colorado contingent chugged away from the hall on its way to Sydney Airport. The adventure begins!
