Investiture of Cub Leaders

Quoll and Rama were invested into the Scout movement as Cub Leaders in a short but personal ceremony.  Both new leaders’ sons were recruited into the ceremony to hold the flag, and the scarves were presented by Brolga.  Brolga asked for the opportunity to present the scarves, as it was a lovely follow-up on a previous similar occasion when he as Scout Leader invested a keen young scout named Michael into his troop.  Michael is now Rama.  Welcome to Kama, both Quoll and Rama.  We love having you with us!

Joey Jaunt

Joey Jaunt is a highlight of the annual calendar for Joeys across Canberra.  It was held last weekend with the theme “Superheroes”.  Our Joeys had to take shelter occasionally from some rain storms, but nothing dampened their fun.  The fire men and their trucks were a hit!

Our ASM Scouts

This week Kama celebrated the award of the pinnacle scouting award, the Australian Scout Medallion, to Jamie, Oliver, Steph, Anna and Bronte.  The Medallions were presented during the section meeting in front of the whole troop, by Skip.  Tonight at a special event held at Camp Cottermouth, our five joined with a record number of ACT Scouts (38 in total) to receive their Certificate from the Chief Commissioner.  The ASM represents a significant investment of effort by those scouts who undertake it, and the support of leaders and family is also important.  Congratulations to all the awardees, and thank you to all those who help them, most especially Koala.
